  • Aligarh Muslim University was originally established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. The Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920. The main campus of AMU is located in the city of Aligarh.
  • In addition to this it has its three off-campus centres at Malappuram (Kerala), Murshidabad (West Bengal) and Kishanganj (Bihar).

Eligibility Criteria:

M.Sc. (Agriculture) Microbiology
  • B. Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Biosciences) / B. Sc.(Microbiology) / B.Sc.(Industrial Microbiology) / B. Sc.(Biochemistry) / B. Sc. (Biotechnology) / B. Sc. (Bioinformatics) / B. Sc. (Molecular Biology) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.

  • B.Sc. (Life Sciences) with one of the subjects Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology as main and two as subsidiary subjects or any three subjects of equal value with not less than 55% marks in aggregate as well as the main subject.
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Entomology
  • B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B. Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Forestry) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate

  • B.Sc. (Life Sciences / Biosciences) with Zoology as main subject, or B.Sc. Zoology with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Plant Pathology
  • B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B. Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Forestry) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate

  • B.Sc. (Life Sciences / Biosciences) with Botany as main subject, or B.Sc. Botany with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Nematology
  • B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Forestry) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate

  • B.Sc. Zoology / Botany / Chemistry as main / major subjects and the other two as subsidiary subjects or B.Sc. Life Science / Biosciences / Biotechnology / B.Sc. Biochemistry with not less than 55% marks in aggregate as well as in the main subject. Note: Candidate should refer to 'Allowed Courses' under 'Important Information & Rules' to ascertain whether s/he is permitted to apply for the course of study

Exam Pattern:

M.Sc. (Agriculture) Microbiology
  • There shall be one multiple choice objective type paper of 100 marks comprising a total of 100 questions with 30 questions on General Knowledge and General Awareness in Agricultural Sciences and related branches of Sciences / Life Sciences and 70 questions on Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Chemistry.
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Entomology
  • There shall be one objective type paper of 100 marks comprising a total of 100 questions with 30 questions on General knowledge and general awareness in Agriculture and 70 questions on related branches of Life Sciences / Biosciences and Agricultural Sciences.
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Plant Pathology
M.Sc. (Agriculture) Nematology
  • There shall be one objective type paper of 100 marks comprising a total of 100 questions with 30 questions on General knowledge, general awareness in Agricultural Sciences and related branches of Science / Life Science, and 70 questions on Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Chemistry.

Exam Centers:

  • The Departmental Test shall be held at Aligarh (U.P.) only.
