General eligibility requirements for Pearl Academy B.Des admissions (2026 cycle):

• Applicants must have completed 10+2 (class XII) or equivalent from a recognised board in any stream.
• Open to candidates from all disciplines (Science / Commerce / Arts / Vocational) provided they have passed 10+2.

Pearl Academy’s selection is multi-stage — components below are commonly used across B.Des programmes:

• GPT (General Proficiency Test) — tests logical reasoning, English proficiency, general awareness and visual reasoning. Typically objective/MCQ + short answer.
• DAT (Design Aptitude Test) — assesses creativity, visualization, sketching/thinking skills, problem solving in design contexts. May include drawing / scenario-based tasks.
• MAT (Media Aptitude Test) — only for programmes that require media aptitude (if applicable).
• PI (Personal Interview) & Portfolio Showcase — shortlisted candidates are called for an interview and/or portfolio review (online in many cycles). Portfolio strengthens the application — include sketches, projects, any design work.
