Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, popularly known as GITAM was founded in 1980 by an inspired group of eminent intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh led by Dr.M.V.V.S.Murthi, Former Member of Parliament and popular philanthropist. The university has three campuses - its main campus at Visakhapatnam, off campuses at Hyderabad and Bengaluru. GITAM inviting applications from the eligible candidates from allover India and Overseas for admission into its Undergraduate courses for the academic year-2017.

GAT Online Tests: GITAM Admission Test (GAT) is a computer based online test conducted for admission to UG & PG Technology & Pharmacy Programs in GITAM University at its Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Campuses.

Undergraduate Programmes Offered:

Eligibility Criteria-

For B.Tech., B.Arch., B.Pharmacy:

Pass in Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2017 or 2016 and also Rank obtained in GAT (UGTP) - 2017, subject to the following criteria:

1. B.Tech. Programs:
   A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
2. B.Tech. in Biotechnology:
   A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
3. B.Pharmacy:
   A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.
4. B.Arch:
   A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying Examination with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main).

How to Apply:

The cost of the application form is Rs.1000/- for boys and Rs.600/- for girls.

Candidates can apply in any one of the following methods:

• Apply online at www.gitam.edu through Debit card / Credit card (Master / VISA).
• Applications can be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate's name with complete mailing address accompanied by Demand Draft for Rs. 150/- drawn in favour of "GITAM University" payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request for applications by post will be accepted upto 25^th March, 2017.
• Applications are also available throughout India in select branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank. List of Banks

The filled - in application along with Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of GITAM UNIVERSITY, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director-Admissions, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam - 530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 31st March, 2017.

Direct Admission to Board Toppers:

• First rank holders of the central and all state board examinations - 2017, equivalent to 10+2 will be given admission to the program of their choice, without appearing for the GAT examination subject to their fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria mentioned above. However they have to submit an application seeking admission to engineering and pharmacy programs in the university.

Exam Pattern:

Duration: 2 Hrs.

Mode of Exam: Online

1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer.

Scholarships:

The University offers financial assistance to the deserving meritorious candidates as detailed below:

• Merit Scholarships will be offered by way of tuition fee waiver for top 100 rankers of GAT (UGTP)- 2017.

Online Slot Booking System:

• The Hall Ticket will not be dispatched to candidates through Post or Fax.
• Candidates must choose a test centre, date and slot of their choice by using the GAT-2017 Online Booking System. Candidates will not be issued the e-hall ticket without booking a slot through online booking system.
• Candidates are required to book their slots using the Online booking system as per the scheduled dates i.e., 09th to 13th April 2017. If the candidate has not booked his / her slot on or before 13th April 2017, the system will generate the same automatically. Please note that the Online booking system will not allow the candidate to book his / her slot after 13th April 2017.

GAT-Counselling:

• The Eligible rank holders qualified in GAT - 2017 are required to attend Online Counseling with Call Letter by downloading from university website at any of the following six centres

1. Bengalore Campus of GITAM
2. Visakhapatnam Campus of GITAM
3. Hyderabad Campus of GITAM
4. Hyderabad City
5. Vijayawada
6. Tirupathi
