What is UPESEAT ?

• University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT). The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies(UPES) is an Public-Private Indian University located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. UPES emerged as an innovative institution offering industry-focused specialized graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in key areas such as Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, Information Technology, Design, Planning & Architecture, Public Policy and Legal studies.
• UPES is a UGC-recognized and NAAC-accredited university, which was established in 2003 under the UPES Act 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand.

Eligibility Criteria:

Exam Pathway (up to 80% Seat distribution):

• Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th).
• Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level(12th).

Non-Exam Pathway (up to 20% Seat distribution):

• Board Merit:
• Minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th).
• Minimum 80% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th).
• JEE Main Scores:
• Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th).
• Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th).
• JEE Mains cut off to be announced soon.
• Age:
• Only candidates whose Date of Birth falls on or after October 1, 1996, are eligible to apply for admission. The date of birth recorded in the Secondary Education Board Certificate will be taken as authentic.

Admission Criteria:

Exam Pathway:

(UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) followed by Centralized Counseling.

Non-Exam Pathway:

• Board Merit - Centralized Counseling through UPES Board Merit rank.
• JEE Main Merit Centralized Counseling through UPES JEE Main Merit rank.

Application Procedure:

Mode of Application: Online & Offline.

Application Fee:

• For Indian Resident: Rs.1850/-.
• For Foreign Resident: US $75 (as per prevailing Indian conversion rate).

Exam Pattern:

Mode of Exam: Computer Based test (CBT) Only

Scholarship / Fee Concession:

• UPES is pleased to announce 6 scholarships of Rs.50,000 each for students securing top ranks in the UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT). 3 out of these 6 scholarships are reserved for girl students. These scholarships are being awarded by Oilmax Energy Pvt. Ltd. , an integrated Oil & Gas Company with a balanced portfolio spreading from Exploration, Production, EPC, O&M to Gas Business.
• As per the merit order ranking in UPES-EAT top 3 boys and top 3 girls will qualify for these scholarships. In case a qualified student does not register for a program in UPES then the scholarship will be passed on to the next qualified student.
• Disbursement of the scholarship is within 45 days from the date of joining the program.
• In case a student have a tie with another student in the UPES-EAT rank (same score), the student having a higher PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) score in Class 12 will get the first priority.
