The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies(UPES) is an Public-Private Indian University located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Eligibility:

Age Criteria:

  • Only candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1995 are eligible to apply for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board only will be taken as authentic.

Exam will be conducted in May, 2018
Non- Examination Pathway through Board Merit / JEE Merit(Subject to number of setas allotted)
Board Merit
Minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 80% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class)
OR
JEE Merit
  1. Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class).
  2. JEE Merit cut off will be announced after JEE Exam 2018.
Centralized Counseling through Merit Ranking
Upto 20% seats shall be filled through Board Merit / JEE Merit category. Incase of seats following vacant in this category; UPES has the right to fill these through UPES Examination. University also reserves the right to conduct further physical (paper pencil test) / online test for admission

Scholarships:

  • Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 85% marks in class XII & 90% marks in PCM for B.Tech. (All Streams) in CBSE or ICSE Examination Board passing out in 2018. Such scholarships will be limited to 5% of seats in each B.Tech. Program. Scholarships will be allotted after commencement of the classes in Merit order to eligible candidates.
  • Scholarships will be given on the basis of merit only.
  • Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent year will be as per the University policy.
